Pastene Queso

Ingredients

Serves 4
1 398 ml can Pastene Diced Fire Roasted Tomatoes
2 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp flour
1½ cups milk
3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, coarsely grated
1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped
cilantro as garnish

Directions

Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 5-10 minutes

  • In a medium pot on medium-low heat, melt the butter.
  • When melted, add the flour and mix well. 
  • Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly.
  • Heat until just before boiling, then slowly add the cheese, stirring constantly. Cook for 5 minutes. 
  • Add the tomatoes and jalapeño and cook until the tomatoes are hot.
  • Garnish with cilantro and enjoy with tortilla chips!
